We had a ward activity last month to climb Ensign Peak. I had always heard about it before but for one reason or another I have never gone. I know that a lot of people have hiked to the top and that it is supposed to be pretty accessible.
The boys and I were restless so we decided to go. Sadly, Lori was at home with baby Jack (only sad because they weren’t with us). Anyway, we got there is pretty good shape. Of course we were late, what else is new. I had brought the stroller because I thought that it would be nice to push Sam if it were possible. Well, it didn’t look like it was going to be possible so, I carried him on my shoulders along with a backpack to the top of Ensign Peak. Surprisingly to me, I wasn’t too tired. The other boys kept wanting to sit and rest, but I was ready to keep going. Not to brag, I was as surprised as you are.
To make a long post shorter, the view was impressive. You can really see the entire valley. We had a good time at the top except for my anxiety about the boys falling off. However unlikely, there were some pretty steep edges and I didn’t want to have anyone from my family to be the first to fall. We were only there for about 30 minutes and then we left for the car. The hike is pretty easy and the trail is well marked. A good time was had by all.

Hey Brent – How exciting to discover your blog. I didn’t know you had one, but have really enjoyed reading your stories and to learn more about what you and your family have been doing. I’m so impressed by you. You are such a good Dad and Lori is such a good Mom. Your kids are lucky. Of course, you are pretty lucky to have them too. They are great kids.
